Aching legHi, im a 19 yr old man turning 20 soon, ive had an aching leg for about 3 or four months, i have no idea what it is and im starting to get worried. i cant be sure but during the time my leg has been aching it seems to me as if it has become harder to urinate in the sense that my stream is not as strong and i have to push harder. do you think this could be kidney stones or something?
any ideas would be a great help. thanks again
Re: Aching legMany painful conditions might interfere with voiding simply due to the pain response. It is a reflex that we cannot control.
I cannot think of a specific urologic condition which might be responsible for leg pain, and strongly suggest seeing your doctor soon for an exam/individual diagnosis and some help. Re: Re: Aching legI also have had (for many years) an aching leg for no apparent reason. My suggestion, -see a qualified chiropractor for manipulation to correct the sciatica nerve. The sciatic nerve (about as big as a little finger) runs down each leg, and can be pinched in the lower back region.
It is perplexing because pain can be down the length of your leg, behind one knee or even numbness in toes, and it can range from annoying to quite painful. Sciatica occurs in up to 5% of the population. It won't hurt to give it a try. [quote] Many painful conditions might interfere with voiding simply due to the pain response. Re: Re: Re: Aching legThe sciatic nerve is not the only nerve that runs down the leg and chiropractic is not necessarily the answer for everyone. If there is a problem with the lower back and/or the lower spinal nerves, then it is possible that the same problem may contribute to some bladder trouble as well. I would suggest a neurology consultation first. Chiropractic can do you no good if there is a spinal cord compression, AV malformation, spinal canal tumor or nerve root disorder.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Aching legHi its me again, thanks heaps for all the posts, recently after writing the first message on your site, i went and did a check for testical cancer, i found a small pea sized mass on my left testicly, needless to say i didnt sleep all night until the next day, i saw a doctor asap, and she said to me that it felt as if it was moving and that more than likely means it is non a cancer or tumor and probably a cyst, does this sound reasonable to you, she offored me a ultrasound to reassure myself and i jumped at the chance, i cant realy relax much at the moment but her diagnosis has set me at ease a bit. is it true that tumors dont move?? and its likely a cyst? if it helps i had a cyst near my ear once, which i was on antibiotics for, maybe im prone to them? the note about the sciatic nerve sounded like a possibility, i do alot of work with computers, as im studying fulltime to be a computer programmer, i spend 99 % of my time sitting. While i saw the doctor about the lump, i asked her about my leg. She said i may have a "concust nerve" and i shud get more exercise/stretch( i have tighthamstrings, have had since i was a child ) and take anti-inflamatories, such as neurophen and use voltaren gel. sorry for such a big message its just so much has happened. Thankyou So much for your help everyone. [quote] The sciatic nerve is not the only nerve that runs down the leg and chiropractic is not necessarily the answer for everyone. Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Aching legNeither a cyst nor a tumor is likely to move, however there are free floating little stones in the testicle. Also, cysts sometimes form at the end of the epididymis or various testicular appendages and these can appear to "move". If it's one of these, then nothing needs to be done. An ultrasound is reasonable to be sure. The cyst in your ear has no connection to this that I can see.
I also don't know about a "concust" nerve, but I'm not a neurologist. I worry a little about all the anti-inflammatories you are taking. An opinion from a neurologist would be helpful in determining what nerves, if any, might be responsible for your leg pain. Re: Aching legHello!
I think this Vascular disease in the legs usually causes pain that comes on with walking and goes away with rest. Pain that occurs at rest requires urgent specialist assessment, in case an artery has become completely blocked.
