balance and vertigo problem

Post a new topicby gary3 on Thu Dec 10, 2009 8:06 pm

Last june I had an ear infection and went on meds to clear it up. About a month later I had an episode of vertigo and unbalanced feeling. It felt like I was drunk, but my mind was clear. Over the last 5 months I have had 3 severe episodes and maybe 6 light episodes. Has anyone had similar problem? I've been to ENT doctors but no results yet. My symptoms are vertigo sweating and tired after the severe episodes and only an unbalanced feeling after the light ones. I've had an MRI and balance tests and they were normal. Been on two different regimens of prednisone and no changes. Can anyone help me with this? This is frustrating. Does not allow me to fly anymore.

Ask you Doc about Meniers disease. It is an inner ear problem the results in repetitive episodes of vertigo. There are treatments but it can also be debilitating. Have a pilot friend who can no longer fly for the same reason.
